Mark and I seek to live our life in the way that we do for one reason alone...because we feel the powerful calling of Jesus Christ directing us to do so...we are just following Him...I forget that living differently comes with it's critics...duh...I am not sure why I forget that but I do. Until, I see my dear friends being criticized for their incredible, large, diverse family. The article in the paper was a joyful testimony of their faith and commitment to kids who don't not have families able to care for them. I can't imagine anyone having a problem with that...and that is where I forget where we live..It is sad to know that on Christmas day, some people had such anger in their hearts, that they felt it necessary to criticize some one for living sacrificially and with purpose.. Getting falsely accused of wrong intentions is just one of those little trials that help us prepare for the big trials in life..
Perspective--I need a dose of that quite often. Why would I be bothered by the comments of men when I know we should only be seeking to please an "audience of One?" God is the only one we should desire to please. We are not of this world...we are called to live differently and that is not going to go over well with the status quo... Yep, I long to keep my perspective on one goal alone...not to be well liked or admired by others, but to seek to please my Savior alone despite the loneliness of this road at times.
I am so thankful for the friends who are on this road with us. Those of you who have chosen to reach out and give hope to children who are in need of a home of their own. I am thankful for those who, despite what others think, follow Jesus faithfully without looking back. I am so thankful for a Savior who does not promise a life with no trials but promises to be there beside us through it all....
Merciful Savior, according to Your Word, blessed am I when men hate me, when they exclude me and insult me and reject me as evil, because of You, the Son of Man. Your Word says I have cause to rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is my reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets. Luke 6:22-23
