What I Love...

I have been thinking about the things that I cherish so much in life...And  towards the top of my list is my Church..I love my Church..because it so clearly brings me to my ultimate love..Jesus. I love my Church because it doesn't waste time or energy on things that are not important in life. Every thing that exists at Bethlehem Baptist points to the cross and to what Jesus Christ has done for us.
It is a Church that looks outward to the global community. It is not a "feel good" Church that compromises the gospel message for fear that people may be offended by the message. It is not perfect and it is always keenly focused on our sin nature and our need for a Savior. I am so thankful for my Church...
Here is our Church focus:

Spreading a Passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the Joy of all Peoples through Jesus Christ.

I love that our Church is about living differently and I love that our focus is about JOY... True JOY that comes from living for Jesus and abandoning our own desires and wants..It is about Jesus redefining who we are..day by day..

A quiet Saturday...

I hear that some people find lots of change in their couch cushions. Not us! We did find a penny, but in an attempt to find our TV remote, we found all of this.. A bag full of wrappers, silverware, pens, pictures, even shamu! There is always something interesting going on around here...
I have been so excited to use the "snowman" kit we got for Christmas..I have bundled every one up several times before and never could quite get the snowman made. So yesterday, looked like a good day. Even though the snow was a little too crystalized around here, the kids and Andrea, our PCA, made this beauty. Isn't he cute?

Just when we think that we are going to have a quiet Saturday, something always seems to stir things up. Aaron and Mark spent the day at Mpls Children's with a G Tube problem. Everything was fine in the end and Aaron  remained a joyful, easy going influence on our family even when he is going through something difficult.  Here He is smiling (wearing his new hat from Universal Studios!) going out the door to the ER. He really helps us to put things into perspective around here.

I am so thankful for Aaron in our lives. He had such a great time in Florida. He loved "It's a Small World." He loved the wild rollercoasters also. I am so glad that I didn't have to go on them with him--good thing Nancy, Aaron's PCA and friend, loves all the wild rides. They were quite a team. Right now Aaron is sitting on the floor, and of course, he is rolling the sock he just took off of his foot into a perfect roll. He is trying to get my attention by giving me the sweetest look--he uses those beautiful green eyes to get his way around here. And it works! Poor guy is sneezing and coughing with a cold, but that doesn't seem to bother him. What a gift he is to us..
