Blogging...why?

I write to figure out what I think. Stephen King
I started this blog primarily for my kids. A journal in a format that I knew I may be able to keep up with. My parents died long before I really understood that I didn't know who they really were. I got glimpses but I really didn't take the time to listen because I was busy creating my own life.
When news of several young moms had died and left young children, I thought it would start writing my thoughts down for my kids. That way, if I was not here to tell them myself when they were ready to hear, they could pull out these entries and maybe find a bit of themselves and a bit of me within these words.
That is why I began to blog but I have really learned that the gift is in the process not just in the end result. Just as Stephen King said (never thought I would be quoting him!), I write to figure out what I think. Days are so busy--life is so filled with the urgent, the important, the mundane--and our thoughts can get lost in the chaos. When I write, I can sort out the junk and focus more clearly on the goal. I can live with intention and purpose. I didn't expect to enjoy blogging so much and I thought that after a month, I would have nothing left to write about. Wow..this blogging is so much cheaper than therapy and I am meeting some really incredible people that I might never have met. I have been given lots of experiences along the way and it is so nice to have a place to share some of that for what it is worth and to follow so many other friends' journeys.
So, just how life works, I began this blog with one purpose and God has filled this journey will blessings that I didn't even know I needed...if you are reading this...I am glad you are here!
