Gusty Winds....
There are some struggles in life that overtake us for a moment (or longer) until we get back on our feet and pick up the burden and then give it back to God where it belongs. I feel like I have dropped the big ball of burden going on right now. If we stop doing what we need to do (now keep in mind we still helped with orienting two nurses, got 5 kids off to school, administered medications to 5 children, got two others dressed and ready for the day, and made it to track and field day for one child)--but if we stop doing what needs to be done daily--like laundry, picking up toys, and dishes--life just looks in shambles again. That is what happened today.
We put up a beautiful new gazebo yesterday only to have it completely destroyed by the wind today. I am definately feeling the temporal side of life--how fleeting everything is that is not eternal.
The gusty wind that we are experiencing here is a reminder of how I am feeling about life right now. With every howl and gust, I am not sure that I can stand against the pressure. It feels like the wind is overtaking.
But, then I remind myself of why we do what we do... Of why we added a child to our already busy family. I try to remember that God has not asked me to face these winds on my own. He has asked me to ride on the force of the winds that He provides. It is in our weakness that his Power is made perfect.
