Sorry I haven't updated but with all the construction going on around the hospital, it seems to be interfering with the Internet connections. Thankfully, my friend Dorothy is helping me out once again.
Maisy is making some good progress. She is up to 20mls an hour of feeding which is half way there! She is still drooling al ot but I think she is just afraid to swallow. When she didn't realize it, she took a drink from her cup and did just fine. But if I ask her to take a drink, she won't try. We are going through 10 or more bibs a day plus many shirts. The docs think that if things continue to go as they are now, she may be able to be discharged on Saturday. It is nice to have a plan.
She still needs quite a bit of suctioning because of some thick secretions but the docs think her lungs sound fine and the chest xray looks great. She is charming everyone at the hospital. She like to take lots of walks around the unit in her wagon. She does the parade wave and smiles as she goes. She has lots of admirers here! She is such a precious little one...I just can't believe that we get to be her parents.
