Isaac has had a couple of really wonderful weeks. He has been smiley and content. He reminds me of Dorie on Finding Nemo--because everything he experiences is like he has seen it for the first time. He has a mobile and as the animals go around, he gets a big grin on his face every time another one of the animals come into his sight...just like the first time he ever saw them. I kind of feel like Dorie also because each time he smiles and gets a big grin, I can't help but stop everything I am doing and smile back and get lost in those precious moments with him..like it's the first time I have ever seen him smile. Adversity does that...it makes me appreciate the little things in ways I didn't expect. After watching Isaac suffer so much in the past, each smile is brings us more joy than we could have ever imagined. We will take nothing for granted with little Isaac and we are so thankful for the good times and the bad.
But, today, I noticed that Isaac was getting another herpes outbreak on his hand. He has been very uncomfortable this evening. Thankfully, we have some big pain meds at home that should help him and help us avoid a hospital stay. We started him on the oxycodone and the increased doses of valium that were prescribed for times when he is in pain. Please lift precious Isaac up with us in prayer. Pray for comfort and relief from the pain.

We looked at an incredible home (MLS# 3895078) that is just 12 miles from our house. It is in Zimmerman, MN and is 6700 square feet with 10 (heated) garages and an indoor pool. With 5 bathrooms, and the potential of 8 bedrooms(at least!) this house could be used for ministry in a big way. After touring this house, which, by the way is only listed at $239,000 (and I really think you could get it for much less--it is valued at $675,000!)--I asked Mark to think of one word to describe what he just saw...I knew what I was thinking and was fairly certain what he was thinking...and I was right. The next word out of his mouth was "SIBGROUP!"
We looked at this house and could only see future ministry opportunities. The possibilities are endless. In our case, we could easily add 5 more children (i.e. a sibgroup!) We are praying about this but I am not convinced that the Lord is calling us to move to this home at this time. Is he calling you? Email for more information about this house!
By the way, if this seems a little too large for you, we have a 3500 square foot home with 8 bedrooms and an elevator (handicap accessible home.) You could buy our home in Elk River and then we will move down the road!
