What matters most...
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
1Corinthians 13:1-3
If there were valedictorians chosen for spreading love and sharing joy, then these would be the recipients. If the ACT tests actually measured Ability to be Compassionate and Thoughtful, there would have been two perfect scores. And if there were scholarships given to the students that did not get caught up in the drama of high school, that stayed focused on what really matters in life, then these two precious children would have been on that stage...thanking God for their accomplishments. And if teachers, principals and paraprofessionals were paid for the compassion and love that they poured out on children with disabilities in the school, then I can tell you there would be millionaires working at Elk River High School.
You, McKenna and Aaron have made us so proud. You have taught us so much about what really matters. Who could have imagined back when you were born, that God would be writing such a precious, powerful story of His faithfulness through the struggles, the fears, and the uncertainties. In our weakness, God's power is made perfect. God has painted a brilliant watercolor through your lives to tell His story...and this is just the beginning..
