Affliction

The greatest affliction is to never have been given affliction.

I found this quote (not sure who said it first) while searching for something. It was just what I needed to be reminded of. It has been in my affliction, in my struggles and in my iniquities, that I have grown so much. I have learned more about true compassion and selfless giving...I have learned what it means, through the example of God's people, to pour love out onto the hurting, the overwhelmed, and the weak. Affliction has taught me so much more than prosperity and comfortable living.

I will be thankful in all circumstances because I have seen that God does not change.  He is faithful, He is loving and I am His...and I will not doubt my Father with my worry.

God is so much bigger than the IRS, SSI, the U.S. government and Schwachman Diamond Syndrome...I have full faith that all the details of our messy life are known to God..He has not left our side..and he will provide ALL that we need. It is well with my soul.
