Many of the distractions that threatened to take away our focus seem to be clearing with no action on our part needed.
After erroneously fining us $8,000, the IRS then sent 5 identical letters telling us that they have indeed, accepted our carryforward amount. I am thinking that they decided to send us 5 identical letters because they were feeling bad that they made us send the exact same documentation to them so many times :) Now, if they tell us when they are going to send our refund, that would be great.
The Courts ruled yesterday that Direct care services for people with disabilities, Medical Assistane and Adoption Assistance were all essential services. Nice to know the work we do is considered essential, I guess :) And so, we will have income in July.
We have tentative housing set up while Elijah is hospitalized and then after he is discharged and yet still can't come home. We need to remain near the hospital after discharge for a couple of months. Lord willing, we will have a furnished, two bedroom apartment to use as a base camp while Elijah is in the hospital. When he is discharged, I will stay there with Elijah and we can have one of our home care nurses come in and help out as well.
Meals are being set up by my dear friend, Dorothy. She has all the details on her site if you would like to check it out.
People are praying. All the details are falling into place. We are relying on God and the compassion of his people to carry us through. And we are filled with a sense of peace knowing that we are being lifted in prayer.
Elijah has a combination of the stomach flu and a respiratory virus. We are bringing him into the U of M this morning to get things checked out and to work on some of the details that will help Elijah with the procedures that he will start next week during work up week. We are going to take more pictures and develop more social stories for him to help him process the events ahead. Please pray for him..he is so excited to go to the hospital this morning..and we want to keep it that way as long as we can.
God has ben good to our family and has shown us his faithfulness in the little things this week. And we will not let that lesson be wasted. as we face the big struggles ahead. God will do what is best for Elijah. That is what McKenna says when ever she worries. And that will carry us through...
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
